Job summary

LHH is seeking an experienced Stationary Engineer to support safe operation, maintenance, and repair of complex mechanical systems at Eglin Air Force Base. The role emphasizes boilers, chillers, HVAC, and BAS expertise in a mission-critical healthcare/government environment.

Ideal candidates have 5+ years of experience, Florida Boiler Operator License or equivalent, and EPA Universal Refrigeration Certification. Healthcare facility experience and strong documentation skills are highly valued.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of commercial mechanical systems operation, repair, and maintenance.
• Strong experience with boilers, chillers, mechanical systems, and control systems.
• Florida Boiler Operator License OR military journeyman-level 5+ documented on DD214.
• State and U.S. EPA-approved Universal Refrigeration Certification.
• Experience with Building Automation Systems (BAS) and advanced mechanical controls.
• Experience with steam and hot-water boiler systems.
• 3+ years of healthcare facilities experience.

Responsibilities

• Lead safe, efficient operations for your assigned shift.
• Perform daily tours, inspections, and system checks across the facility.
• Operate, troubleshoot, repair, and maintain boilers, chillers, cogeneration, cooling towers, pumps, and related systems.
• Conduct preventive, corrective, and routine maintenance.
• Monitor water chemistry and fuel systems; manage expansion tanks and critical equipment.
• Prepare accurate maintenance documentation and logs.
• Coordinate with subcontractors and site personnel during maintenance and emergencies.
• Respond to emergencies and implement established procedures.

Keep Critical Facility Systems Running Safely & Efficiently

Our client is seeking an experienced Stationary Engineer to support the safe and reliable operation, maintenance, and repair of complex mechanical systems at Eglin Air Force Base.

This is a great opportunity for an experienced engineer or skilled trades professional with strong boiler, chiller, HVAC, mechanical systems, and controls expertise to work in a mission-critical healthcare and government environment.

What You'll Do

• Lead safe and efficient operations for your assigned shift.
• Perform daily tours, inspections, and system checks throughout the facility.
• Operate, troubleshoot, repair, and maintain boilers, chillers, cogeneration systems, cooling towers, pumps, air compressors, AHUs, motors, heat exchangers, controls, and related systems.
• Perform and oversee corrective, preventive, and routine maintenance.
• Monitor water chemistry systems, fuel systems, expansion tanks, and other critical equipment.
• Respond to customer service requests and communicate unresolved issues to management.
• Respond immediately to emergency situations and initiate established emergency procedures.
• Maintain accurate operating logs, maintenance records, and required documentation.
• Coordinate with subcontractors, service providers, and site personnel during maintenance and emergency activities.
• Maintain accountability for tools, spare parts, and equipment.
• Safely use a wide range of hand and power tools.
• Work overtime and varying shifts as required.

• 5+ years of commercial mechanical systems operation, repair, and maintenance experience.
• Strong experience with boilers, chillers, mechanical systems, and control systems.
• Florida Boiler Operator License OR military journeyman-level 5 or higher documented on DD214.
• Strong troubleshooting skills with large, complex mechanical systems and controls.
• Ability to read and apply blueprints, specifications, BAS control drawings, and building operations manuals.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to prepare accurate reports and maintenance documentation.
• State and U.S. EPA-approved Universal Refrigeration Certification.
• Strong knowledge of safe work practices and maintenance procedures.
• Ability to optimize system performance and maintain regulatory compliance.
• Experience with steam and hot-water boiler systems.
• 3+ years of experience in healthcare facilities.
• Experience with Building Automation Systems (BAS) and advanced mechanical controls.
• Familiarity with plumbing, electrical, and fire protection systems.
