Summary

This position is responsible for independently performing a full range of tasks involved in the operation and maintenance of all boilers (regardless of pressure), engines, turbines, motors, internal combustion engines, pumps, air compressors, generators, ice and refrigerating machines, air conditioning units and plants, fans, siphons, as well as automatic and power-oiling pumps. The role ensures the proper and continuous operation of all plants, machinery, and engines at the University.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

1. Perform a full range of tasks involved in the operation and maintenance of boilers, engines, turbines, motors, internal combustion engines, pumps, air compressors, generators, ice and refrigerating machines, air conditioning units and plants, fans, siphons, and automatic and power-oiling pumps, ensuring proper and continuous operation of all plants, machinery, and engines at the University.
2. Collaborate with university staff, faculty, and students to align goals and coordinate facilities department efforts.
3. Assist with snow removal and other departmental projects or responsibilities.
4. Advise the Chief Engineer on the current conditions of building mechanical systems and infrastructure, providing recommendations for repairs or improvements.

Qualifications

1. 3-5 years of experience as a licensed stationary engineer.
2. Experience with various HVAC and building operating systems, including steam heating systems.
