General Summary of Position

Job Summary: MedStar Health is seeking a Stationary Engineer to join our team at MedStar Harbor Hospital. The Engineer will operate the power plant to supply steam and hot water, maintain water temperature in hot water systems, ensure a safe climatic environment, and perform preventive or corrective maintenance on equipment.

Primary Duties:

  1. Diagnose, repair, and install equipment using blueprints, codes, specifications, and industry standards.
  2. Keep accurate operational logs of equipment in multiple buildings; perform rounds of machinery rooms, cooling towers, boiler rooms, and rooftops for visual inspections and operation verification.
  3. Conduct water tests on converters and chillers; maintain cleanliness and safety of assigned stations.
  4. Perform preventive and corrective maintenance on HVAC equipment and related machinery.
  5. Prepare boilers and related equipment for inspection; maintain water treatment by daily testing of circulating systems and adding chemicals as per standards.

Qualifications:

  1. High School Diploma or GED.
  2. 3-4 years of related experience.
  3. Engineer First Grade - SEL Maryland Stationary Engineer Grade 1 license required.
  4. Verbal and written communication skills.
  5. Basic computer skills preferred.

This position offers a hiring range of $33.86 - $50.13.
