Job summary

Maersk is seeking an Operations Director to drive profitability and growth across a designated territory. You will lead frontline management, coordinate with National Accounts, Global, and other teams, and build an organization capable of handling growth while maintaining high quality KPIs.

The role requires 5–10 years in transportation management, a Bachelor’s degree (preferred), and strong communication, organizational, and leadership skills.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree preferred.
• 5-10 years of transportation management or district management experience.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills; proficient with computers and data analysis.

Responsibilities

• Ensure adherence to regulations, policies and procedures.
• Attain or exceed budgeted revenue and profitability within the territory.

• Control costs such as transportation, labor, overtime, chargebacks, facilities.
• Develop a business plan for the territory with management and staff.

• Conduct performance reviews and monitor KPIs to drive operational excellence.
• Collaborate with leadership across accounts and logistics teams to grow the customer base.

Job Summary

Responsible for Operations and Profitability within a designated territory. Key front-line management and leadership role in the organization. Responsible for creating an organization capable of handling the upward growth of the company. Works in coordination of the organization's key functional areas to grow the key products and services. The expectation is that this position is the key driver of sales growth within the district. Maintain highest quality key performance indicators to support the system with operational excellence.

Essential Functions

• Ensure adherence to all regulations, policies and procedures as required.
• This includes all safety regulations and requirements to all federal, state, and local laws and ordinances Attaining or exceeding budgeted revenue and profitability within the assigned territory
• Analyzing all fixed and variable costs to ensure maximum profitability is met as shown on the monthly and year to date P&L
• Controlling costs such as: purchased transportation, labor, overtime, chargebacks, and facilities
• Develop a business plan for the territory in conjunction with management and key staff.
• Knowing the marketplace: make sure we have the proper staffing to achieve our share of the available market opportunity
• Work with the leadership teams of National Accounts, Global, Government, Last Mile, Truck Brokerage, Logistics and Transborder to expand our base customers and develop new opportunities
• Hire, train and administer all station staff.
• Develop a team who are capable of expanding their roles in the company.
• Conduct regular performance reviews for all employees to track progress
• Monitor IQ indices and implement procedures to ensure that operationally we are creating a better customer experience.
• Works with field operations to improve compliance.
• Multi-tasking individual with strong organization skills. Must have strong written and verbal communication skills and strong computer skill Must be an enthusiastic, approachable team builder

Education

• Education: Bachelor’s Degree preferred.

Experience

• Experience: 5-10 years of transportation management or district management experience. Operational experience in domestic and global transportation.

Physical Requirements

Physical Requirements: This is a clerical position in a professional office setting. The employee is frequently required to sit. Occasionally stand, walk, use hands, stoop, bend and reach. Extensive use of a phone and a PC is required. Position may require working remotely at times

Pay Range

Pay Range: $110k - 120k *The above stated pay range is the anticipated starting salary range for the position. The Company may adjust this range in light of prevailing market conditions and other factors such as location. The Company will work directly with the selected candidate(s) on the final starting salary in accordance with all applicable laws.
