Job summary

Maersk is seeking a Station Manager in Portland, OR to oversee daily planning, scheduling, reporting, and financial operations of the terminal. You will direct activities across Dock purchasing, Traffic, and Equipment Maintenance to ensure efficient, safe, and cost-effective operations.

Ideal candidates have LTL management experience, English proficiency, and strong knowledge of terminal operations, with a focus on continuous improvement and cost controls.

Qualifications

• Able to read, write, and speak English.
• Proficient with Excel and PowerPoint.
• Knowledge of Terminal Operations and regulatory requirements.

Responsibilities

• Defines and delegates subordinate responsibilities; develops strategies to improve operational costs.
• Negotiates bids with brokers and asset-based carriers to meet savings objectives.
• Oversees freight transfer activity from terminal to terminal.
• Develops cost-efficient methods of operation and ensures customer satisfaction, a safe facility, and proper performance of processes.
• Fosters an environment of continuous improvement.
• Enforces company policies, procedures, and rules to employees.
• Trains, supervises, and develops staff; approves expenditures and staffing changes.
• Monitors KPI metrics and P&L performance; drives revenue for the station.
• Controls station expenditures and manages station employees.

Summary:

This position administers daily planning, scheduling, reporting & financial operations of the terminal. Directs the activities of the entire operation, including Dock purchasing, Traffic, and Equipment Maintenance.

Responsibilities:

• Defines and delegates subordinate responsibilities; develops strategies to improve operational costs
• Negotiates bids with brokers and asset-based carriers to meet company savings objectives
• Oversees freight transfer activity from terminal to terminal
• Develops and maintains cost-efficient methods of operation. Ensures customer satisfaction, a facility free of safety hazards, and proper performance of operational processes
• Fosters an environment of continuous improvement
• Communicates and enforces company policies, procedures, and rules to employees
• Provides advice, guidance, and assistance as needed
• Recommends and approves increases or decreases in staff; screens and selects employees; approves long-range departmental plans, work goals, and objectives, and standards
• Assists and evaluates the performance of employees’ recommendations and approves expenditures, salary changes, promotions, transfers, changes in status, and disciplinary action
• Assigns work, trains, develops, and motivates employees
• Responsible for KPI metrics and PNL performance
• Helping drive revenue into the Station
• Controlling Station Expenditures
• Manage Station employees
• Communicates and administers personnel programs and procedures in accordance with approved policies
• Other duties as requested

Qualifications:

• Able to read, write, and speak English

• Deep understanding of business law, along with local, state, and federal regulations
• A high degree of computer software knowledge

Pay Range:

$95,000 - $100,000 salary

*The above-stated pay range is the anticipated starting salary range for the position. The Company may adjust this range in light of prevailing market conditions and other factors such as location. The Company will work directly with the selected candidate(s) on the final starting salary in accordance with all applicable laws.
