Job summary

FirstLight Power is seeking an experienced Station Electrician at our Rocky River and Bulls Bridge locations in New Milford, CT. This is a unionized position within the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers.

The Station Electrician reports to the O&M Supervisor and is responsible for operating and maintaining generation assets, including generators, motors, gates for river management, and related equipment, with compensation between $52.82 and $58.03 per hour and a competitive bonus

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• 4+ years of electrician experience in an industrial setting.
• Connecticut journeyperson electrical license or transferable license.
• Experience with industrial or utility generating plant equipment.
• Ability to work overtime and rotating shifts.
• Valid motor vehicle operator’s license.

Responsibilities

• Read engineering prints, electrical and mechanical drawings and schematics.
• Operate generating units and manage switching and energy isolation.
• Inspect plant equipment, calibrate devices, plan and set up maintenance.
• Troubleshoot, analyze, and calibrate control devices and relays.
• Collaborate with Operations, Engineering, Mechanics, Safety teams.
• Respond to emergencies or unanticipated needs outside of normal hours.
