Knowledge, Skills and Abilities required at this level include knowledge of federal and state laws and regulations relating to the administration of assigned program; of the principles, methods and practices of the program being administered; of the organization, development and administration of the program for which responsibility is assigned; and of supervisory principles and practices. Ability is required to plan, coordinate, and evaluate the activities of multiple work units and divisions engaged in a broad range of functions; to establish and maintain effective working relationships with others; to communicate effectively with people of diverse backgrounds, both orally and in writing; and to interpret, analyze, and resolve highly complex administrative and personnel problems.
Work is typically performed in an office setting with climate-controlled settings and exposure to moderate noise level. While performing the duties of the job, employee is required to talk, stand, walk, and reach with hands and arms. This position requires regular periods of sitting or standing and daily use of computer and phone. It also requires the occasional use of the office machinery in accordance with safety and security protocols. Occasional travel may be associated with this position.
Education and Experience requirements for this position require a master’s degree in education, counseling, or related field plus a minimum of three years of experience, with at least one year of experience designing, managing, or implementing programs serving disadvantaged and academically at-risk populations. Preference may be given to individuals who have succeeded in overcoming the disadvantages of circumstances like those of the EOC population in Oklahoma.
Computer Skills – Employee must be capable of proficiently using the OESC's standard software (Microsoft Office - Word, Outlook, Excel, Access, and Teams), and the Internet, as well as proficiency to learn other software as needed. Employee must be capable of lifting, carrying, and moving objects of up to 25 pounds.
