Job summary

The Virginia Department of Veterans Services is seeking a Suicide Prevention Coordinator to join the SOS team in Richmond. You will plan, implement, coordinate, and evaluate suicide prevention initiatives designed to reduce deaths and attempts and strengthen behavioral health statewide.

You will collaborate with community partners, state and local agencies, healthcare providers, schools, and coalitions to advance evidence-informed strategies, support the continuum from prevention to crisis

Qualifications

Ability to operate in a deadline-oriented environment and manage multiple outreach/training duties.
Excellent oral and written communication skills, analytical and organizational abilities.
Ability to liaison among federal, state, and local behavioral health and suicide prevention partners.
Thorough knowledge of suicide prevention and related policy/service delivery issues.
Ability to work with diverse stakeholders and partners including universities and advocates.
Strong training and meeting facilitation and consultation skills.
