Job summary

Education Service Center Region 13 is seeking a Statewide TEKS Resource System Science Coordinator to develop and update K-12 science curriculum, assessments, and resources, and to provide professional development to district staff. The role also manages the TCMPC Science team and coordinates with TEKS Resource System clients.

Responsibilities include analyzing TEA/TEKS initiatives, supervising staff, managing contracts and workflows, and presenting at statewide conferences.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in science
• Texas Teacher Certification
• Minimum five years of classroom teaching experience
• Minimum three years of supervisory experience
• Minimum three years of program management experience
• Preferred leadership position at campus or district level

Responsibilities

• Represent ESC Region 13 courteously in interactions with the educational community and the public
• Collaborate with technology partners to review digital tools for K-12 Science curriculum and assessment content; assure scientific accuracy for TEKS-aligned resources from AI-driven software development
• Develop, revise, and enhance four core curriculum, assessment and related resources
• Analyze data, feedback, and TEA materials and initiatives to determine areas for development and enhancements that support instruction
• Manage development processes including workflows, timelines, and contracts according to the SBOE calendar and TEKS Region 13 client needs
• Stay current with trends in curriculum, instruction, technology, assessment, and school systems; build relationships with TEA/SBOE and professional organizations
• Maintain an internal file management system (SharePoint) for knowledge management of science products
• Collaborate with TEKS Resource System tech provider on creation and delivery of TEKS Resource System components
• Assist in planning conferences/events and present at statewide conferences
• Perform other duties as assigned

Education

Bachelor's degree in science

Texas Teacher Certification

Five years of classroom teaching experience

Three years of Supervisory experience

Three years of Program Management experience
