Job summary

Illinois Attorney General is seeking a registered nurse to promote consistent, professional, and victim-centered medical forensic treatment of sexual assault patients statewide. The role supports nurses, develops area-wide SANE plans, and assists rural communities with Sexual Assault Response Teams.

Qualified candidates must hold an RN license, have SANE program knowledge, and be familiar with forensics and victim advocacy.

Qualifications

• Must be a licensed Registered Nurse at time of application.
• Knowledgeable about SANE programs, policies and protocols.
• Familiar with forensics, crime lab procedures, emergency medical terminology and procedures and victim advocacy.
• Travel and the physical ability to file and duplicate information which may include bending, stretching, stooping and lifting up to 15 lbs.
• Attendance and the ability to maintain satisfactory working relationships with other employees and the general public are essential functions of this position.

Responsibilities

• Support and assist nurses working on the Adult/Adolescent and Pediatric/Adolescent SANE clinical requirements.
• Facilitate the development of hospital area-wide treatment plans that will ensure all sexual assault patients will be treated by a SANE or other qualified medical provider, including 24/7 on-call SANE programs.
• Support rural communities in Central and Southern Illinois in developing Sexual Assault Response Teams.
• Support SANE training activities and coordinate continuing education.
• Provide technical assistance for SANEs, nurses who are training to become SANEs, and others who contact the SANE Program.
• Maintain records and data for grant reporting.
