State of Washington Office of Financial Management is seeking a payroll systems consultant in Olympia, Hybrid role with telework options and required in-person activities. The position supports state agencies through payroll consulting, system configuration, and policy interpretation.

Qualifications

• Experience in payroll processing and administration per state rules.
• Ability to interpret collective bargaining agreements and civil service rules.
• Experience with state payroll systems (HRMS, Pay1/Benefits 24/7, AFRS, ERA, ER/Webi, WWA).
• Ability to advise multiple agencies on payroll processing.
• Knowledge of GAAP and state accounting policies.

Responsibilities

• Provide payroll consulting to state agencies and support HRMS/payroll systems.
• Audit HRMS wage types and resolve system errors per payroll cycle.
• Coordinate Workday HCM readiness activities for payroll-related implementations.
• Develop and maintain WAAM and SAAM sections related to payroll.
• Lead payroll training and share resources with agencies.
