Zusammenfassung

Dean Transportation seeks a School Bus Mobile Service Fleet Mechanic to support maintenance on buses, trucks and vans across the state. The role involves diagnosing and repairing mechanical and electrical systems, performing road tests, and coordinating with vendors and site staff to keep fleets safe and compliant.

The candidate should have formal automotive training, relevant licenses, and strong communication skills to work with drivers and maintenance teams.

Qualifikationen

• Vehicle maintenance experience required; truck, tractor, and/or diesel maintenance preferred.
• Must possess or be able to obtain current mechanic licenses (ASE or Michigan) in specified areas.
• May be certified in Computer Electronic Engine and Transmission Diagnostics.

Aufgaben

• Diagnoses vehicle problems and performs repairs per manufacturers' instructions and regulations.
• Inspects and services brakes, steering, drive train, engine, cooling, electrical, and exhaust systems.
• Perform road tests, on-site repairs, and safety inspections; maintain maintenance reports.
• Install seat belts, lifts, radios, strobe lights and other equipment as needed.
• Communicate with vendors, drivers and staff to coordinate parts and service.
• Ensure compliance with state police inspections and disposal of waste materials.

Ausbildung

Technical School degree in automotive

Valid Michigan CDL Class B with S and P endorsements

ASE or state licenses (Heavy Duty Brakes/Drive Train/Diesel/etc.)
