Job summary

The Vermont Fire Academy, part of the State of Vermont, is seeking a Fire Academy Instructor & Program Training Coordinator to coordinate and deliver training across the state, including the Pittsford campus and local communities.

You will recruit, train, and evaluate instructors; review and update curricula; deliver classroom and live-fire instruction; and maintain training records to ensure high-quality statewide education.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 3+ years firefighting experience, including 1 year in fire training or instruction.
• Valid driver's license.
• Preferred: Associate's degree or higher in fire science or related field.
• Preferred: EMT/Paramedic certifications and Firefighter I/II, Fire Instructor I/II, Fire Officer I/II.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate and support the delivery of fire service training programs statewide.
• Review, update, and recommend training curricula to meet current standards.
• Recruit, train, and evaluate instructors while maintaining high-quality instruction statewide.
• Deliver classroom and hands-on training, including live-fire settings.
• Maintain training and certification records and prepare reports as needed.
