Job summary

State of Utah is seeking an Educator Development Specialist for the Utah State Board of Education. The role coordinates educator effectiveness, mentoring, and induction, and supports Gifted and Talented programs across Utah’s schools.

You will administer the Educator Exit and Engagement Surveys, support Title II, Part A grants, ensure compliance with ESSA, and provide technical assistance and budget support.

Qualifications

• Utah Teaching License is required.
• Experience coaching educators and designing high-quality professional learning at LEA or state level.
• Creative problem-solving for adaptive and technical challenges.
• Strong enthusiasm for building educator capacity and teacher growth across Utah.
• Strategic systems thinking enabling statewide scalability.
• Classroom teaching and LEA level experience in Utah K-12 education.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate educator effectiveness and standards for the Utah State Board of Education.
• Support mentoring, induction, and Gifted and Talented programs across Utah schools.
• Facilitate administration and reporting of Educator Exit and Engagement Surveys.
• Provide Title II, Part A grant technical assistance, budget revisions, and reimbursements.
• Ensure compliance monitoring per ESSA and state guidelines.
