Summary of Job Duties:

The Statewide Parenting Program Practitioner is responsible for implementing the contracted parenting program in partnership with the Division of Children and Family Services. The practitioner will receive training and accreditation in the program models and work with a team to tailor programming to family needs, under the supervision of the Parenting Program Implementation Coordinator. This position is governed by federal and state laws and agency policy.

Qualifications:

Required Education and/or Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree or must complete one by start date;
  • Experience working with children and/or families;
  • Experience facilitating classes or groups;
  • Ability to work outside regular hours and travel;
  • Fluency in Spanish.

Preferred Education and/or Experience:

  • Master's degree with licensure where appropriate;
  • Two+ years leading groups of diverse parents and children;
  • Experience facilitating parenting programs.

Job Duties and Responsibilities:

Training and Implementation:

  • Complete training and become accredited;
  • Assist with referrals from DCFS.

Communication and Collaboration:

  • Proactively communicate with participants and DCFS staff;
  • Receive supervision and resolve issues.

Facilitation:

  • Assess family needs and tailor programming;
  • Facilitate curriculum in-person and virtually;
  • Engage parents actively.

Documentation:

  • Complete required documentation, evaluation, and reporting.

Performs other duties as assigned.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Facilitative skills across diverse backgrounds;
  • Experience with direct service to parents, children, and teens;
  • Comfort with in-home services;
  • Assessment and data collection skills;
  • Ability to work outside normal hours and travel;
  • Training development and presentation skills;
  • Effective teaching principles knowledge;
  • Ability to adapt training to family needs;
  • Training coordination skills;
  • Report writing and record keeping;
  • Ability to present to diverse groups;

Salary: $45,000 - $48,000
