Job summary

Quest Diagnostics in Staten Island, NY is seeking a Phlebotomist I to work Monday through Friday 7:00 AM to 3:30 PM with rotating Saturdays 7:00 AM to 1:00 PM. You will collect specimens, perform basic phlebotomy duties and ensure accurate data entry in our lab systems.

The role offers pay between $24.00 and $24.50 per hour, with potential annual bonus based on performance, and a comprehensive benefits package beginning Day 1 for eligible employees.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Medical training preferred.
• Phlebotomy certification preferred; required in CA/NV/WA.
• One year phlebotomy experience preferred.
• Customer service in a retail or service environment preferred.
• Keyboard/data entry experience.
• Ability to communicate effectively in English.

Responsibilities

• Collect specimens according to established procedures, including drug screens and biometric screening.
• Administer oral solutions as trained.
• Verify test/client information and orders using lab systems and client contact.
• Navigate computer and enter data accurately.
• Obtain identification and enter billing information; collect payments when required.
• Process specimens: labeling, centrifuging, aliquoting, freezing, transport prep.
• Perform non-patient facing duties: inventory, stocking, sanitizing, filing, phones, email.
• Read, understand and comply with policies and procedures.
• Assist with statistics and data submission as required.
• Maintain phlebotomy logs and temperature logs.
• Complete online and in-person training timely.
