Job summary

Recover-Care Healthcare is seeking a State Tested Nurse Assistant (STNA) to provide routine nursing care in accordance with policy and direction from supervisory staff. This role supports therapy preparation, hygiene, and resident transport to activities within the facility.

Responsibilities include responding to call lights, adhering to infection control, and documenting shift information. Professional presentation and respect for resident rights are emphasized in daily duties.

Qualifications

• Must have certification as a STNA.
• Ability to read, write and speak the English language.
• Must have patience, tact, cheerful disposition and enthusiasm, as well as be willing to handle residents based on whatever maturity level they are currently functioning.
• Tracheostomy care, ventilator care experienced preferred.

Responsibilities

• Prepare residents for therapy, activities, physician visits, religious services, etc., including transporting residents to/from such activities.
• Answer residents’ call lights promptly.
• Attend in-service educational programs, on the job training programs and meetings as directed.
• Assist residents with proper hygiene.
• Bathe residents as assigned and in accordance with established facility procedures (encourage showers and other self-help measures/activities).
• Follow infection control procedures in accordance with established facility policy when isolation techniques are necessary.
• Chart required information every shift pertaining to the role of the STNA.
• Present a professional image to consumers through dress, behavior and speech.
• Adhere to Company Standards for resolving consumer concerns.
• Ensure that all consumer/resident rights are protected.
