Job summary

Bluegrass Consulting Group is hiring a State Registered Nurse Aide (SRNA/CNA) to provide direct hands-on nursing care to residents in our community setting. You will support professional nurses and help residents achieve the highest functioning level while maintaining independence.

Responsibilities include assisting with ADLs, responding to call lights, transporting residents, reporting observations, and upholding infection control, privacy, and safety.

Qualifications

• Certified and state tested as a State Registered Nurse Aide; certificate must be active, valid, and in good standing.

Responsibilities

• Assist residents with activities of daily living (ADL).
• Respond to residents' call lights to provide comfort, safety and privacy.
• Transport residents by ambulation or wheelchair within the community.
• Report significant findings/observations to nurses immediately.
• Assist residents on admission, transfer and discharge for smooth transitions.
• Safekeep residents' personal possessions.
• Keep resident rooms neat and safe.
• Follow infection control techniques.
• Respect residents' privacy and confidentiality.
• Re-teach residents to perform ADL skills.
• Provide restorative care to prevent pressure sores and contractions.
• Participate in Continuous Quality Improvement and ensure follow-up.
• Converse with residents and families; assist them with adjustment to the community.
• Ensure adequate hydration and nutrition; report deviations from norm to the Charge Nurse promptly.
• Perform vital signs and basic measurements (BP, pulse, respirations, intake/outtake, weights).

Position Overview

The SRNA is a member of the community nursing team whose responsibility is to assist professional nursing personnel by delivering direct hands-on nursing care to ambulatory and non-ambulatory residents on a daily basis. The SRNA is also responsible for assisting the residents to achieve the highest level of functioning while living as normal a lifestyle as possible.

Key Responsibilities

• To perform or assist the resident with completing Activities of Daily Living (ADL).
• Respond to residents call lights to provide maximum comfort, safety and privacy.
• Transport residents by ambulation or by wheelchair to areas of community (dining room, lobby and activities).
• Report any significant findings/observations to nurse immediately.
• Assist residents on admission, transfer and discharge to make a smooth transition.
• Responsible for the safekeeping of residents’ personal possessions.
• Keep resident rooms neat and safe.
• Follow proper infection control techniques
• Respect the rights of each resident, particularly privacy and confidentiality.
• Re-teach resident to perform ADL skills.
• Provide restorative care to prevent pressure sores, contractures, and complications.
• Participate in Continuous Quality Improvement and ensures follow-up occurs.
• Converse with resident and family; assist them on adjustment to the community.
• Ensure adequate hydration and nutrition of resident; report deviations from norm to the Charge Nurse promptly.
• Perform blood pressure, pulse, respirations, intake/output and weights accurately.

Qualifications

• Certified and state tested as a State Registered Nurse Aide in the state employed; certificate must be active, valid, and in good standing.
