STATE PARK SUPERINTENDENT III /LAW ENFORCEMENT ANDEMERGENCY SERVICES DIVISION / K-9 LAW ENFORCEMENT/ SACRAMENTO CA

***This is a Peace Officer Position . To be eligible, you must meet the minimum qualifications established by the Department of Human Resources AND either be currently eligible or eligible for reinstatement as a PC 830.2, California State Peace Officer. If you are not a current peace officer and in possession of a POST – Academy, Basic, Intermediate or Advanced Certificate, you are not eligible for this position. The reporting location for this position is Sacramento, CA. This position works under the direction of the DivisionChief, Law Enforcement and Emergency Services Division (LEESD).

The Canine Specialist Superintendent III is responsible for the planning, control, monitoring and direction of the Canine Program for the Department. Extensive travel may be required for this position. The Canine Specialist may be required to perform any duties within (LEESD) including but not limited to, managing the Serious Incident Notification program on a rotational basis, Telecommunications, Emergency Services, Law Enforcement, Backgrounds and Internal Affairs investigations.
