Qualifications

• Experience equivalent to two years of skilled fulltime labor and trades experience.
• Ability to operate and troubleshoot grounds and facilities maintenance equipment.
• Ability to lift, push, pull, or carry objects and bend, stretch, twist, or reach with one's body.
• Ability to listen to and understand information and ideas presented through spoken or written words and sentences.
• Ability to communicate information in writing and speaking so others will understand.
• Ability to manage one's own time and the time of others.
• Ability to teach others how to do something.
• Ability to monitor/assess performance of self to make improvements or take corrective action.
• Ability to troubleshoot to determine causes of operating errors in equipment such as mower, trimmer, vacuum cleaners, floor buffers, or other maintenance and custodial equipment.

Responsibilities

• Inspect grounds and facilities daily to identify repair and maintenance needs.
• Operate maintenance equipment including mowers, trimmers, chainsaws, and leaf blowers.
• Inspect grounds for trash, safety hazards, maintenance issues, and general appearance to ensure public safety in the park.
• Perform groundskeeping duties such as mowing and trimming grass.
• Perform custodial tasks related to cleaning facilities including mopping, power washing, and painting.
• Communicate with the public to provide basic customer service and direct to solutions.
