The reporting location for this position is the Monterey State Historic Park (MSHP) unit office located at 20 Custom House Plaza, Monterey CA. This position will work under the direction of the State Park Interpreter III. The State Park Interpreter II is the lead person for all interpretive staff, seasonal and permanent, at Monterey State Historic Park (MSHP) and Asilomar State Beach and Conference Grounds. This includes working collaboratively with partners, staff, and volunteers to deliver a large number of interpretive programs to diverse audiences and assist in coordinating large events. The incumbent is responsible for oversight of existing programs and material, and the development of new programs, material, and exhibits. This position is the State Parks Cooperating Association Liaison at MSHP. The Interpreter II works with the District Interpreter III on assigned district level Interpretive projects and includes oversight of staff involved with the Monterey District digital and social media platforms.
Training and development assignments may be considered.
This position is designated as not telework eligible.
