Job summary

AOM Infusion is seeking a Local Medical Director to provide state-level clinical oversight and regulatory accountability for our nurse practitioner-led ambulatory infusion centers. This fractional, contracted role focuses on regulatory obligations, chart review, and policy governance within the defined geographic area.

The LMD will engage with NPs under state law, perform timely chart reviews, and maintain compliance with licensing and DEA requirements while reporting to the National Medical

Qualifications

• MD or DO with unrestricted license and no current board actions.
• Board certification in Internal Medicine or a relevant specialty.
• Active DEA registration; eligible to supervise NPs per state law.
• Experience supervising NPs/APRNs in clinical or ambulatory settings.
• Comfortable working independently in a remote, distributed model with accurate timesheets.

Responsibilities

• Serve as medical director for AIC sites in the applicable state, meeting regulatory and licensure requirements.
• Establish joint protocols or collaborative practice agreements with NPs per state law.
• Provide periodic on-site presence and electronic availability as required by state law.
• Conduct chart reviews for NPs and document oversight via monthly timesheets.
• Review and approve clinical policies, procedures, and emergency protocols annually or as directed.
• Ensure each AIC patient has an independent treatment relationship with a rendering provider.
• Participate in reviews of high-risk events and credentialing activities as directed.
• Report state-level quality and safety matters to the National Medical Director.
• Ensure drugs are prepared per manufacturer labeling; escalate deviations for review.
• Document all activities via monthly timesheets.
