Baker Tilly in Frisco, TX, is seeking a State & Local Income Tax Senior Associate to join the SALT practice, delivering state tax compliance and consulting for clients across industries.

Qualifications

• 4 year degree, license eligible.
• 1 year of professional experience.
• Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, economics, business, or a related field preferred.
• Minimum 3 years of experience in public accounting or industry with a focus on multi-state income and franchise tax compliance and consulting required.
• Possessing or actively working on a credential such as CPA, enrolled agent, or IPT certification.

Responsibilities

• Assist clients with state income/franchise, sales taxes, mergers and acquisitions, nexus considerations, and filing positions.
• Conduct technical research on state tax laws and regulations, including changes in legislation and case law.
• Analyze client data to identify filing obligations, potential tax exposures, and planning opportunities.
• Support clients in state tax audits, notices, and controversy matters.
• Maintain strong internal relationships across service lines and engagement teams.
• Develop technical expertise in state tax and communicate insights to clients and internal teams.
• Manage multiple client projects in a deadline-driven environment with accuracy and quality.
• Participate in mentoring, coaching, and learning initiatives to support ongoing development.
• Contribute to business development and relationship-building efforts internally and externally.

Minimum Qualifications

The pay rate ranges for this position are listed below. Actual compensation is influenced by a variety of relevant factors including but not limited to applicant’s skills, prior experience, qualifications, degrees, professional certifications, work arrangements and geographic location. Baker Tilly offers a comprehensive compensation and benefits package to eligible employees.

In Dallas & Frisco, TX: pay rate range is $87,980 to $131,970

In Houston, TX: pay rate range is $100,550 to $150,840
