Job summary

Intercontinental Exchange, Inc. in Atlanta seeks a State and Local Tax Senior Analyst to manage tax compliance in a fast-paced, tech-enabled environment. The role emphasizes preparation of state and local returns, extensions, estimates, and planning initiatives.

The successful candidate will work with Finance, Legal, and Operations to optimize tax positions, perform research, and support audits. Strong Excel skills and 3+ years of experience are expected.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
• 3+ years of state and local corporate tax experience.
• Strong understanding of apportionment, nexus, and combined filings methodologies.
• Experience with income tax return software.
• Advanced Excel skills with formulas, pivots, and data validation.
• Experience with tax research platforms (RIA Checkpoint and/or CCH IntelliConnect).
• Experience with Oracle or other financial accounting systems.
• CPA designation is a plus.
• Strong communication and teamwork skills.

Responsibilities

• Prepare state and local income tax returns and work papers for corporations and partnerships.
• Prepare extensions and quarterly income tax estimates.
• Perform tax research on filings positions, elections, methods, and legislative changes.
• Assist with quarterly and year-end tax provision calculations and related analyses.
• Assist with state and local income tax audits and gather supporting documentation.
• Collaborate with finance, IT, and operations on tax initiatives.
• Participate in state and local tax planning, restructurings, and M&A.
• Identify process improvements and automate data workflows in tax.
• Analyze ERP-sourced data used in returns, apportionment, and payments.
• Design and implement repeatable, well-controlled tax processes.
• Reduce manual effort through data standardization and automation.
