Job summary

Cherry Bekaert’s State & Local Tax team is expanding. This role supports tax professionals with data entry, data manipulation in Excel, and document handling for client records and state tax filings.

Responsibilities include researching statutes, verifying work for accuracy, and communicating with clients via on-site meetings and video calls. A bachelor’s in accounting and strong Excel/Word/PowerPoint skills are preferred.

Qualifications

• Pursuing a Bachelor's degree, preferably in accounting.
• Ability to work overtime during peak seasons.
• Strong teamwork and organizational skills.
• Excellent client service mindset.
• High attention to detail and communication skills.
• Proficiency with Excel for data manipulation; experience with Word and PowerPoint.
• Access experience is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Work directly with tax professionals on a wide variety of projects, including data entry in Excel, copying client records, organizing data files, completing forms, sending and managing receipt of correspondence with State tax agencies, and various other client-related administrative tasks
• Gather, manipulate, and analyze data
• Participate in research of state tax statutes, regulations, and rulings
• Thoroughly verify work for completeness and accuracy
• Interact with clients via on-site meetings, video calls, and project status reports
