Job summary

Plante Moran is seeking a tax professional to help ensure clients’ financial health through state and local tax expertise. You’ll craft solutions beyond spreadsheets and contribute to returns, alerts, and research across a broad client roster.

Travel may be local, national, or occasional international. A drive to deepen knowledge in state/local and federal tax is valued, with a supportive culture and strong growth opportunities.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree with an emphasis in accounting or Master’s in accounting/tax.
• Academic success with a minimum GPA of 3.0.
• Must be pursuing a LLM, JD, or CPA license.
• Detail-oriented with strong problem solving, communication, and analytical skills.

Responsibilities

• Provide tax consulting for state and local taxes including income, franchise, sales and use, gross receipts, and personal property taxes.
• Prepare state and local income and franchise tax returns.
• Write internal and external tax alerts on current tax developments and planning techniques.
• Research complex tax issues and draft technical memoranda.
• Develop meaningful interactions with staff and a diverse client base.
• Deepen knowledge in state/local and federal tax.
