Job summary

Global Accounting Network is seeking an experienced tax professional in New York to lead state and local income tax compliance, planning, and research with ASC 740 experience. This role combines compliance, tax accounting, planning, research, and team leadership.

The ideal candidate has 7+ years in corporate or public accounting, a CPA and/or Master’s in Tax preferred, and a strong background in multistate tax.

Responsibilities

• Oversee state and local income tax compliance, planning, and research activities.
• Prepare and review state income tax calculations supporting ASC 740 reporting.
• Research and resolve technical state and local tax matters.
• Manage state and local tax audits, inquiries, and related risk assessments.
• Manage and review state and local tax estimates, extensions, and tax filings.
• Support tax planning initiatives involving business transactions, credits and incentives, and changes to the company's state tax footprint.
• Monitor legislative and regulatory developments and assess their impact on the business.
• Identify opportunities to improve tax processes, technology, and overall efficiency.

Your Background:

• Approximately 7+ years of relevant tax experience, with a strong background in corporate or public accounting.
• Significant experience with State & Local Income Taxin a large or complex organization.
• Strong understanding of state tax compliance, and tax planning.
• Working knowledge of ASC 740.
• Experience managing complex multistate tax issues and projects.
• Strong analytical, organizational, and project management skills.
• Demonstrated ability to lead, develop, and mentor tax professionals.
