Job summary

CliftonLarsonAllen Wealth Advisors, LLC in Denver is seeking an Audit Associate for our State and Local Government (SLG) practice. The role involves performing detailed audits, reviews, and related assurance work for local, county, and state government clients, with opportunities to advance to lead small audits.

The ideal candidate has a bachelor's degree in accounting or finance and at least 1 year of relevant experience; SLG experience is a plus.

Qualifications

A bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or a related field.
1 year of relevant experience in professional services.
State and Local Government audit experience is a plus.
CPA or eligible to sit for CPA exam preferred.
General knowledge of accounting principles and regulatory reporting.
Proficiency with MS Office (Outlook, Word, Excel).
Familiarity with internal software systems (Pfx Fixed Assets, Pfx Engagement, CCH Access Tax, XCM).

Responsibilities

Perform detailed audit work for State and Local Government clients.
Support multiple client engagements, ensuring on-time and within-budget delivery.
Complete assigned portions of engagements accurately within tight timelines.
Interact with clients to gather information for timely wrap-up of engagements.
Audit complex areas/transactions and prepare financial statements and reports.
Collaborate with managers and principals to ensure quality service and communication.
