The South Dakota Attorney General's Office seeks a motivated attorney to join its legal team as an Assistant Attorney General in Pierre. The role provides legal counsel and representation to various governmental entities on Indian law, natural resources, taxation, and regulatory matters.

The ideal candidate will have a JD from an accredited law school, be licensed in SD or eligible for licensure, and demonstrate strong writing, research and communication skills.

Qualifications

• Juris Doctorate from an accredited law school.
• SD licensure to practice law or eligibility to obtain licensure promptly.
• Excellent writing, research, and communication skills.

Responsabilités

• Provide legal counsel and representation to various governmental entities on Indian law, natural resources, public lands, taxation, and regulatory issues.
• Draft and review administrative rules, contracts, and legal memoranda; advise agency leadership and staff; conduct legal research.
• Represent the State in administrative and judicial proceedings.
