Job summary

Qualifications

• Baccalaureate degree from an accredited four-year college or university, or equivalent experience.
• Six years of full-time or part-time equivalent paid or volunteer fire prevention/safety experience.
• Two years in a supervisory capacity in fire prevention and fire safety.

Responsibilities

• Develops and monitors the strategic plan for the State Fire Marshal office.
• Leads activities across engineering, fire prevention, code enforcement, investigations, and public education.
• Coordinates with multiple state agencies to enforce applicable codes and statutes.
• Develops and delivers fire safety education programs for the public and stakeholders.
