Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Communications, Journalism, Marketing, Public Relations or related field.
• 3-7 years of communications experience across employee/ internal, media relations, digital content or customer engagement.
• Strong writing and editing skills tailored to diverse audiences.
• Experience with AI-driven content tools and evolving multimedia formats.
• Strategic storyteller able to craft relatable business narratives.
• Translate complex subjects into clear messaging.
• Ability to manage multiple projects under tight deadlines.
• Familiarity with CMS tools and social platforms.

Responsibilities

• Develop and execute internal communications to inform and align state employees with strategic priorities.
• Draft employee-focused messaging for portals, leadership updates and safety campaigns.
• Translate technical concepts into accessible internal content.
• Support executive communications including presentations and town halls.
• Coordinate with HR and corporate teams for timely internal messaging.
• Draft news releases, media statements and external briefings.
• Identify story opportunities and build relationships with local reporters.
• Serve as media spokesperson delivering key messages.
• Monitor issues and respond to outages or emergencies.
• Produce customer-focused content on energy programs and updates.
• Create digital content for web and social media; develop video scripts.
• Support management of content calendars and multimedia assets.
