Qualifications

• Must pass a comprehensive background investigation (criminal record, education, employment history, references, etc.).
• Must meet state requirements for certification to work in the jail, including the 80-hour Jail Standards course and the 172-hour Detention Training Program.

Responsibilities

• Supervise felony and misdemeanor detainees and maintain discipline.
• Work with Sheriff’s Office divisions, Circuit Courts, District Courts, Public Defenders, Prosecuting Attorneys and other agencies.
• Demonstrate initiative and attention to detail while working with minimal supervision, ensuring assignments are completed efficiently.
