Job summary

Hunton Trane is seeking an experienced Startup & Warranty Technician to plan, coordinate, and execute startup activities for Applied Commercial HVAC systems in Houston, TX. You will ensure mechanical and controls systems are installed, tested safely, and meet design intent, codes, and owner requirements.

You will coordinate with construction teams, vendors, controls providers, commissioning agents, design professionals, and owners to deliver fully operational systems.

Qualifications

• 5–10 years of applied HVAC equipment experience.
• Experience starting up typical commercial HVAC systems.
• Understanding of instrumentation, controls and BAS.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management.
• Detail-oriented with safety, quality, reliability focus.

Responsibilities

• Plan and execute startups per plans and procedures.
• Coordinate mechanical, electrical, controls, and vendor startup activities.
• Verify installations meet design documents and specifications.
• Oversee startup of pumps, VFDs, heat exchangers, valves, sensors, BAS.
• Contribute to commissioning meetings and client updates.
• Prepare startup reports, checklists, deficiency logs.
• Ensure safe startup sequencing and site safety standards.

This position ensures that applicable mechanical and controls systems are installed, tested safely and in accordance with design intent, applicable codes, project specifications, and owner requirements. The ideal candidate brings experience with typical commercial system components such as packaged roof top units, air handlers, variable refrigerant systems, air cooled chillers, and cooling towers.
