Job summary

Molin Concrete Products Co. is seeking a quality control technician to join our onsite team in Lino Lakes, MN. You will evaluate aggregates moisture, conduct fresh concrete tests, and document results to ensure products meet specifications and customer expectations.

Responsibilities include inspecting pour pre/post dimensions, strand stressing, and recording data. A high school diploma is required, and compensation ranges from $28 to $34 per hour, depending on experience and certifications.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Ability to read a tape measure and blueprints.
• Experience with concrete testing and recordkeeping.
• Proficient with Microsoft Office and data entry.

Responsibilities

• Evaluate aggregates moisture and gradation to ensure mix specs.
• Perform fresh concrete tests: slump, temperature, air, and unit weight; prepare test cylinders.
• Inspect pre/post pour dimensions, form work, reinforcing steel, and lifting inserts; record results.
• Record results and issue cull reports for non-conforming products.
• Conduct/inspect strand stressing per drawings and tolerances.
• Perform concrete strength tests at 28 days and prior to prestressing release.
• Participate in safe-practice identification and documentation.
• Report issues to QC Lead or manager.

Job description

*** This position is onsite in Lino Lakes, MN. The hours of this position are typically 5am-1pm but may change depending on the business needs. ***

In this position you'll evaluate, test, monitor, and record quality control procedures ensuring products are produced as planned and designed to meet industry and company standards as presented to customers.

Essential Functions:

• Evaluate aggregates for moisture content for adjustment of mix quantities and gradation for compliance with specification.
• Conduct fresh concrete testing via sampling. Perform slump, temperature, air, and unit weight tests; prepare test cylinders and record results.
• Conduct pre and post pour inspections of product to ensure compliance with drawings. Inspect for form dimensions & squareness, reinforcing steel, embedment plates, lifting inserts, etc. Record results and complete cull report for non-conforming products.
• Conduct/Inspect strand stressing to ensure compliance with drawings and specified tolerance. Record results and material certification data.
• Perform concrete strength tests prior to release of prestressing and at 28 days and record results.
• Periodic inspection of headed stud and assembly welding.
• Participate in the identification, documentation and execution of safe practices in all areas of production to assure safety is equal in importance to the quality of product produced.
• Report problems to QC Lead or manager.

Education and Experience:

• High school diploma or equivalent

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

• Ability to read a tape measure
• Able to read blue prints
• Concrete testing, tolerances and recordkeeping requirements
• Familiar with Microsoft Office products and data input
• Team player
• Math aptitude
• Detail oriented; process management and ability to follow strictly prescribed methods
• Able to operate testing and mixing equipment
• Pay for this position will range from $28-34/hr depending on the experience, certifications, and qualifications of the applicant.*
