Job summary

Agropur, inc. in Jerome, ID seeks a Starter Room Operator to safely operate starter, pasteurization, and related equipment. You will monitor the full process, ensure quality starter production, and adhere to QA policies.

In-house training provided; high school diploma preferred; no prior experience required. We offer a starting wage of $28.02, subsequent pay raises up to $1.00 within the first year, a $1.50 shift differential, Sundays double time, 3 weeks PTO, holidays and floating holidays, and

• No experience required; in-house training provided.
• Previous experience in food manufacturing preferred.
• Good mechanical aptitude required.

Responsibilities

• Operate starter, vat pasteurization, and related equipment safely and efficiently.
• Sanitize and maintain equipment and recording charts.
• Monitor process for quality starter and adherence to internal specs.
• Follow Quality Assurance policies and report any potential issues.
• Record data on make sheets and charts accurately.
• Perform starter activity tests as needed.
• Monitor phage results and rotate cultures as needed.
• Monitor freezer temperatures and ensure proper function.

How your role contributes to that mission:

We are looking for a Starter Room Operator in Jerome, ID. The Starter Room Operator is responsible for safely and efficiently operating, sanitizing, maintaining and monitoring starter, vat pasteurization, media prep and related equipment.

• Manufacture starter to conform with internal specifications and expectations.
• Monitor the complete process for efficient and quality starter.
• Adhere to quality system requirements.
• Understand and comply with all Quality Assurance policies, and immediately report any potential food safety issues to management.
• Monitor all equipment and recording charts; ensure proper function.
• Perform starter activity tests as needed.
• Monitor phage results and rotate cultures as needed.
• Monitor freezer temperatures and record.
• Completely and accurately fill out all recording charts.
• Record all required information on the make sheets.
