Job summary

Pinehurst is seeking a Starter/Ranger to manage orderly play on our golf courses and ensure smooth operations for Members and Guests. The role emphasizes safety, etiquette, and timely directing of players from tee to tee.

Candidates should have a High School diploma or GED and at least three months of related experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience. The job is performed on site, outdoors, with exposure to varying weather conditions.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED required for the role.
• Minimum three months related experience; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

Responsibilities

• Be knowledgeable regarding the general rules of the play of golf.
• Stand for several hours consecutively.
• Operate a golf cart and assist players as needed.
• Tolerate adverse weather conditions while on duty.
• Provide excellent interpersonal service to Members and Guests.
• Check tee sheets and direct players to the starting tee promptly.
• Inform players about daily course conditions and guidelines.
• Monitor course conditions and timeliness of play.
• Be available to assist players at all times.
• Identify and report faulty course conditions and equipment.
• Maintain accurate records and assist with other duties as needed.
• Help colleagues when required due to fluctuating operations.
