Job summary

International Paper Company in Newton, NC is seeking workers for second shift responsible for counting and stacking finished products, reading orders, and ensuring quality. You will operate gauges, perform basic math, and complete required documents. Duties include machine area cleanup and following safety procedures.

Job description

Could work a 8, 10, or 12 hour shift depending on daily schedule

3:00pm - 11:00pm or

5:00pm – 3:00am or

7:00pm – 7:00am

The Job You Will Perform:

Counting and stacking finished product

Reading factory orders

Accurately reading gauges and other test equipment

Utilizing basic shop math, including reading a tape measure

Requires accurately completing quality and administrative documents and following directions

This person will also be assigned to clean-up functions such as blowing down the machine, wiping off shafts, cleaning ink systems, vacuuming and sweeping the machine area, as well as picking up and shredding scrap.

Requires bending, stooping, twisting, pushing and pulling, and light lifting (up to 25 lbs.) but not to exceed 50 lbs.

Ensuring Quality and Safety

Being punctual and ready to work for scheduled shifts

Ability and desire to work safely and follow safety procedures, including the use of proper personal protective equipment as required

Ability to read a standard tape measure

Ability to add and subtract all units of measure, read, copy, count and record figures

Ability to read factory orders

Ability to stand, walk and reach at or below shoulder level with frequent twisting, bending and lifting from the ground; repetitive lifting

Ability to work daily and Saturday overtime as business conditions require

Ability to follow instructions, ask questions, and work effectively as a member of a team.

Must be at least 18 years of age

Willingness to work 2nd shift

Applicant must successfully complete pre-employment health assessment, drug screen, and background check
