Job summary

Sundt is seeking a Startup Manager in the United States to manage commissioning, startup, testing, client turnover and initial operation activities, ensuring alignment with project objectives and requirements.

Responsibilities include leading startup teams, directing pre-commissioning testing, developing schedules, coordinating start-up staff, and ensuring safe plant operations. Strong planning, communication and MS Office skills are essential for success.

Job Summary

The Startup Manager will manage, monitor, and control the commissioning, startup, testing, client turn over, and initial operation activities to ensure the work is performed in conformance with the project objectives and requirements.

Key Responsibilities

Leads the overall safety, quality, schedule, commissioning, staffing, material control and field-based procurement for the startup and commissioning process.
Plans, implements and directs pre-commissioning testing programs and start-up procedures on projects.
Responsible for developing startup schedule and milestones for incorporation into project schedule to assist project team in ensuring a successful overall schedule completion.
Responsible for interpreting, organizing, executing and coordinating all assignments for start-up staff.
Responsible for the safe startup and plant operations activities including equipment and system checkout, inspection for proper installation, review for correct design and evaluation of expected system and equipment operation parameters under temporary start up conditions.
Reviews design changes and provide reports to engineering liaison to assist in design change preparation.

Ability to wear personal protective equipment is required (including but not limited to; steel toed shoes, gloves, safety glasses, hearing protection, hardhat, vest, etc.)

May use telephone, computer system, email, or other electronic devices on a limited basis to communicate with internal and external customers or vendors
