Town of Jackson's Southern Teton Area Rapid Transit (START) seeks Transit Operators for 40 hrs/wk and winter part-time seasonal work (Nov 27, 2026 – Apr 11, 2027) in Jackson, WY. Primary duty is bus operation on fixed routes serving Town of Jackson, Teton Village, and regional shuttles with ADA service.

Training starts Nov 11, 2026. Winter housing options are provided; housing stipends apply, and an end-of-season bonus is possible.

Qualifications

• Class B CDL with air brake and passenger endorsement required.
• Ability to interact politely and effectively with the public.
• Transit-vehicle experience a plus.

Responsibilities

• Operate a bus on fixed routes to transport skiers, employees and guests.
• Assist the public and provide ADA compliant service.
• Complete electronic data/pass scanning on buses.
• Maintain safe driving practices and vehicle condition.

**$30-$35/hour DOQ ** Southern Teton Area Rapid Transit (START) is hiring qualified Transit Operators for 40 hrs/wk and for fill in/part time work for the winter season November 27, 2026 -- April 11, 2027. Below market winter rental housing provided. Paid pre-season training starting on November 11, 2026. This is an excellent opportunity for a value centered, team-oriented professional interested in public service as well as interested in enjoying a vibrant Rocky Mountain ski resort lifestyle with world class skiing in Jackson Hole and Nordic skiing in Bridger Teton National Forest, as well as Grand Teton and Yellowstone National Parks. Primary duty is the operation of a bus in order to transport and assist the general public along a fixed route. Routes include transporting skiers/ snowboarders/ employees/ guests to and from the Town of Jackson and Teton Village, transporting locally employed community members and visitors throughout Town, fill-in shifts transporting commuters from Teton Valley Idaho and Star Valley Wyoming, and fill-in shifts serving our most vulnerable with ADA service all while operating an updated fleet of diesel powered buses, motor coaches for commuters, hybrid diesel buses, and smaller gas powered shuttle buses. Electronic data/pass scanning on all buses. Any combination of education and experience providing the required skill and knowledge for successful performance would be qualifying. Typical qualifications include: Class B CDL with air brake and passenger endorsement required. Successful applicants will possess the ability to deal politely, effectively, and responsibly with the public.
