Job summary

SpaceX South Texas build site seeks an experienced TIG Welder (Starship) to assemble the primary airframe, tanks, and bulkheads for the Starship and Super Heavy vehicles. You will join an elite team of fabricators and technicians focused on precision welding to drawing specs.

Candidates should have 7+ years TIG welding, AWS D17.1/D1.2 certs preferred, ability to work various shifts, and readiness for high elevations and demanding environments. Must pass weld tests and meet safety requirements.

Qualifications

• 7+ years of TIG welding experience.
• Experience with stainless/carbons steel, Inconel, aluminum, or titanium preferred.
• AWS D17.1 and D1.2 certifications preferred.
• Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and specs.
• Willingness to work varied shifts, overtime, and weekends as required.
• Must pass weld test per AWS D17.1 and meet ITAR/safety requirements.

Responsibilities

• GTAW class A welds and fabricate metal components per drawings.
• Collaborate with lead welder to select proper weld procedures and materials.
• Analyze drawings to plan welding when procedures are unavailable.
• Improve processes and efficiency on the shop floor.
• Weld assemblies for small to large structures and launch vehicles.
• Communicate with management and engineering to ensure build efficiency.
