Job summary

United States Digital Space LLC is seeking a Ground Network Specialist to own the reliability of our global Starshield ground station fleet. This role involves heavy travel and lab space management in Hawthorne, CA, and requires hands-on hardware expertise.

The position supports critical national security systems with opportunities to develop in-house solutions, advanced documentation, and collaboration within a small team. An active clearance is preferred; TS/SCI/DOE Level Q are valued assets.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in engineering or related field.
• 3+ years troubleshooting electronics, comms, or avionics hardware.
• Ability to work with minimal supervision and deliver high-quality results.
• Strong attention to detail and meticulous documentation.
• Leadership and mentoring abilities to elevate team performance.
• Ability to read electrical/mechanical drawings and schematics.
• Experience building IT/network racks and organizing equipment.
• Proficient with electrical safety and power distribution basics.
• Ability to obtain/maintain TS/SCI or DOE Level clearance.

Responsibilities

• Deploy, troubleshoot, and repair Starshield ground hardware as part of a small team.
• Travel internationally and domestically up to 75% to resolve hardware issues.
• Diagnose failures in fiber optics and antenna hardware and repair.
• Investigate issues with onsite network and routing hardware.
• Create and improve training documentation for team skills.
