STARLight Center-Behavioral Health Specialist- Full Time 11p-7am Saturday-Wednesday Night shift

Essential Functions:
  • Monitor client symptoms and response to treatment; communicate changes with the treatment team for appropriate interventions.
  • Develop and maintain supportive relationships with clients, families, and caregivers.
  • Coordinate community resources such as schools and outpatient providers to ensure continuity of care; advocate for clients as needed.
  • Provide crisis intervention and stabilization during emergencies.
  • Facilitate appointments addressing physical, mental health, and substance use needs.
  • Review diagnostic evaluations and assessments to support individualized treatment plans.
  • Participate in team meetings, trainings, and perform administrative duties including maintaining records and responding to communications.
  • Document interactions confidentially, adhering to agency guidelines.
  • Attend weekly supervision and maintain contact with professionals involved in client care.
  • Promote an inclusive work environment and represent the agency positively.
  • Exhibit flexibility and positivity, and take on new responsibilities as needed.
Therapeutic Behavioral Service (TBS) activities include:
  • Consultation with licensed practitioners for service planning.
  • Referral to healthcare and behavioral services to prevent more restrictive treatments.
  • Use of evidence-based interventions.
  • Strategies development and social skill restoration.
  • Crisis prevention and management.
Education/Experience:
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Three years relevant experience demonstrating behavioral health skills.
  • Understanding of human behavior, mental illness, and psychiatric symptoms.
  • Knowledge of mental health systems, de-escalation techniques, and recovery concepts.
  • Experience or coursework in behavioral healthcare is helpful.
