Job summary

SpaceX is seeking a Mechanical Design Engineer for the Starfall program in Hawthorne, CA. You will own structures, fluids, and components through the product lifecycle, applying hand calculations, FEA, and CAD to meet stringent spaceflight requirements.

You will interact with senior leadership during critical design phases and collaborate across disciplines to deliver hardware on schedule for a mission to enable rapid global mobility and future space-based applications.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in engineering; 1+ years CAD/FEA experience.
• 1+ years hardware fabrication, assembly, and/or testing experience.

Responsibilities

• Full ownership of primary and secondary structures, mechanisms, and/or fluid systems.
• Use CAD and FEA to meet requirements.
• Lead design reviews and hardware qualifications.
• Interface with suppliers, customers, and internal teams.
• Own hardware delivery timeline from inception to reuse.
