Food & Beverage Team

The Food & Beverage team ensures a consistent experience for guests by ensuring product is fresh, in stock, available, and accurately priced and signed on the sales floor. They lead food and food services including replenishment, inventory accuracy, food safety, presentation, pricing and promotional signing processes for all Food and Beverage areas of the store.

Barista Responsibilities
  • Deliver an exceptional guest experience by serving handcrafted beverages and food during all hours of operations, prioritizing the guest’s needs.
  • Uphold all Food & Beverage standards, Starbucks brand standards, and food safety requirements.
  • Execute food and beverage processes, including deliveries, replenishment, pulls, stocking, zoning, instocks, data accuracy, culling, rotation, cleaning, and backstock.
  • Maintain awareness of all promotional activities within Starbucks.
  • Follow Target and Starbucks routines to deliver a consistent Starbucks experience while driving efficiency and maintaining food safety.
  • Support the Starbucks Drive‑Up process to ensure digital guest orders are fulfilled accurately and on time.
  • Keep the dining area inviting for guests all day, every day.
  • Engage with guests to exceed their expectations based on Starbucks standards.
  • Produce items to specifications on production cards and follow department routines.
  • Monitor and record temperature‑sensitive food items per best practices.
  • Complete and record all cleaning tasks in the Starbucks space.
  • Follow proper packaging and labeling guidelines for food products.
  • Handle damaged, recalled, or expired items according to best practice.
  • Ensure accurate in‑stocks by placing store‑initiated orders.
  • Follow perishable inventory procedures to accurately record inventory.
  • Execute sampling best practices.
  • Create a welcoming experience by greeting all guests authentically.
  • Observe guests to quickly determine when assistance or interaction is needed.
  • Engage guests genuinely, asking questions to better understand their needs.
  • Be knowledgeable about store tools, products, and services to solve guest issues.
  • Thank guests warmly and express appreciation for choosing Target.
  • Complete all required Starbucks trainings related to quality control.
  • Demonstrate ethical conduct, safety, and compliance.
  • Work safely at all times, identifying and correcting hazards.
  • Support guest services such as back‑up cashier, order pick‑up, and Drive‑Up, maintaining compliance with adult beverage laws.
  • Perform any other duties as required by business needs.

  • Maintain focus and composure in a fast‑paced environment while accomplishing multiple tasks.
Physical & Working Conditions
  • Accurately handle cash register operations.
  • Climb ladders as needed.
  • Efficiently scan, handle, and move merchandise, occasionally lifting up to 44 pounds.
  • Work a flexible schedule with nights, weekends, and holidays; reliable attendance required.
  • Operate in temperatures ranging from 34°F to -10°F.
  • Work in spaces where common allergens may be present.
  • Remain mobile throughout scheduled shifts, regardless of weather or humidity.
