Responsibilities

• Create an environment where customers feel welcome, important and appreciated by answering questions regarding products within the department and store
• Gain and maintain knowledge of products and respond to questions and make suggestions
• Collaborate with associates and promote teamwork to help achieve store goals
• Prepare beverage selections to recipe and standards and to customer requests using proper equipment; tender transactions
• Offer product samples and inform customers of coffee shop specials
• Provide customers with fresh products and correct portion sizes to prevent shrink
• Recommend coffee shop items to meet customer needs
• Use equipment in coffee shop (refrigerators, freezers, slicers, ovens) per guidelines; prepare, package, label and inventory ingredients
• Check product quality and review sell-by dates
• Properly use kitchen equipment, espresso machine, blender, scale and steamer
• Label, stock and inventory department merchandise
• Report product ordering/shipping discrepancies to the department manager

• Check product quality to ensure freshness; review “sell by” dates and take appropriate action
