Responsibilities

• Create an environment where customers feel welcome, important and appreciated by answering questions regarding products sold within the department and throughout the store.
• Gain and maintain knowledge of products sold within the department and respond to questions with suggestions.
• Collaborate with associates and promote teamwork to help achieve store goals.
• Prepare beverage selections to recipe and standards and to customer requests using proper equipment; tender transactions using company best practices.
• Offer product samples to help customers discover new items or products; inform customers of coffee shop specials.
• Provide customers with fresh products that they ordered and the correct portion size to prevent shrink.
• Recommend coffee shop items to customers to ensure they get the products they want and need.
• Use equipment in coffee shop such as refrigerators, freezers, slicers, and ovens; prepare, package, label and inventory ingredients.
• Check product quality to ensure freshness; review sell by dates and take action.
• Properly use kitchen equipment, espresso machine, blender, scale and steamer.
• Label, stock and inventory department merchandise.
• Report product ordering/shipping discrepancies to the department manager.
• Stay current with present, future, seasonal and special ads.
• Reinforce safety programs by complying with safety procedures and identify unsafe conditions.
• Practice preventive maintenance by inspecting equipment and notify management of repairs.
• Notify management of accidents; report safety risks or illegal activity to store management.
• Ability to work cooperatively in high paced and stressful environment; manage conflict.
• Act with honesty and integrity regarding customer and business information.
