Key Responsibilities:

  • Create an environment that makes customers feel welcome, important, and appreciated by answering questions about products sold within the department and throughout the store.
  • Gain and maintain knowledge of products sold within the department and respond to customer questions and suggestions.
  • Collaborate with associates and promote teamwork to help achieve company/store goals.
  • Prepare beverage selections according to recipes and standards, using proper equipment; process transactions following company best practices.
  • Offer product samples to help customers discover new items or inquire about products; inform customers of coffee shop specials.
  • Provide customers with ordered products of correct portion size to prevent shrinkage.
  • Recommend coffee shop items to ensure customer satisfaction and product needs are met.
  • Use all equipment in the coffee shop, such as refrigerators, freezers, slicers, ovens, espresso machines, blenders, and steamers, according to company guidelines.
  • Label, stock, and inventory department merchandise.
  • Report product ordering/shipping discrepancies to the department manager.
  • Stay current with present, future, seasonal, and special ads.
  • Reinforce safety programs by complying with safety procedures, identifying unsafe conditions, and notifying store management.
  • Practice preventive maintenance by inspecting equipment and reporting repairs needed.
  • Report customer or employee accidents and safety risks, including illegal activities, to management.
  • Work cooperatively in high-paced and sometimes stressful environments.
  • Manage conflict reasonably and cooperatively.
  • Act with honesty and integrity regarding customer and business information.
  • Follow directions and seek assistance to resolve issues.
  • Support and assist minors, individuals with special needs, and older adults through direct interaction.
  • Perform essential job functions with or without reasonable accommodation.
