Responsibilities include:

  1. Create an environment where customers feel welcome, important, and appreciated by answering questions about products sold within the department and throughout the store.
  2. Gain and maintain knowledge of products and respond to customer inquiries with suggestions.
  3. Collaborate with team members to achieve store goals.
  4. Prepare beverages according to recipes and standards, and handle transactions properly.
  5. Offer product samples and inform customers about specials.
  6. Ensure the freshness and quality of products, review "sell by" dates, and prevent shrinkage.
  7. Use equipment properly, including refrigerators, freezers, slicers, ovens, espresso machines, blenders, and scales.
  8. Label, stock, and inventory merchandise; report discrepancies.
  9. Stay updated on ads and promotions.
  10. Follow safety procedures, report unsafe conditions, and adhere to food safety regulations.
  11. Perform preventive maintenance and report equipment issues.
  12. Report accidents, safety risks, and illegal activities to management.
  13. Work cooperatively in a high-paced environment, manage conflicts, and act with integrity.
  14. Follow directions and seek assistance when needed.
  15. Support and assist diverse customers, including minors, individuals with special needs, and older adults.
  16. Perform essential job functions with or without reasonable accommodations.
