Job summary

Ascent Hospitality operates a Starbucks cafe within its hotels in Chattanooga, seeking a Barista to deliver legendary customer service, craft beverages to standard recipes, and maintain a clean, inviting store environment for guests and team members. • Prior Food and Beverage, Coffee/Barista, Restaurant experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Welcome and acknowledge all guests according to company standards, providing eye contact and a warm welcome as they enter the coffee shop area; anticipate and address guests' service needs, assist individuals with disabilities, and thank guests with genuine appreciation.
• Acts with integrity, honesty and knowledge that promote the culture, values and mission of the company.
• Maintains a calm demeanor during periods of high volume or unusual events to keep store operating to standard.
• Anticipates customer and store needs by constantly evaluating environment and customers for cues.
• Delivers legendary customer service to all customers by acting with a customer comes first attitude and connecting with the customer. Discovers and responds to customer needs.
• Follows operational policies and procedures, including those for cash handling and safety and security, to ensure the safety of all Team Members during each shift.
• Maintains a clean and organized workspace so that Team Members can locate resources and product as needed.
• Provides quality beverages, whole bean, and food products consistently for all customers by adhering to all recipe and presentation standards. Follows health, safety and sanitation guidelines for all products.
• Maintains regular and punctual attendance.
• Available to work flexible hours that may include early mornings, evenings, weekends, nights and/or holidays

This job creates the Starbucks Experience for our local patrons and hotel guests by providing customers with prompt service, quality beverages and products, and maintaining a clean and comfortable store environment. • Must maintain a neat and professional appearance upholding Company appearance standards at all times.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

• While performing the duties of this job, the employee may be required to sit for long periods of time; using hands and fingers repetitively; view computer screens for long periods of time; use office equipment, including a telephone; reach with hands and arms; and stoop, kneel or crouch and frequently required to walk, climb stairs, talk and hear.
• May be required to regularly lift and/or move up to 10 pounds, frequently lift and/or move up to 25 pounds, and occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
• Must be capable of effectively using close vision, distance vision, and color vision.
• Able to operate in mentally and physically stressful situations
