Job summary

The Stanley Black & Decker Leadership Program – Human Resources is a hybrid, multi-location development track designed for recent graduates with HR internships and a business degree. You will rotate every 6-12 months across facilities in the US, leading projects and driving improvements while building strong partnerships with business groups.

  • Bachelor's or Master's Degree in HR, Business Administration, Organizational Psychology, Analytics or Communications.
  • Demonstrated leadership experience paired with strong academic background.
  • Prior internships in HR, Analytics or Project Management.
  • Ability to work autonomously and within a team without constant direction or supervision.
  • Strong communication skills: verbal, written, and interpersonal; presentation and facilitation skills; social media savvy communicator.
  • Demonstrated quantitative, analytical, creative problem solving, and conceptual skills.
  • Resourceful with ability to navigate the unknown and solve problems through various channels.
  • Excellent networking and collaboration skills; ability to build alliances and work in a team.

  • Lead HR and analytics projects to streamline processes and improve working capital turns.
  • Plan, manage and deliver on projects during rotational assignments.

The Stanley Black & Decker Leadership Program (“SLP”) is a high-profile rotational program that is an integrated process for accelerating the development of our future leaders. It is geared toward recent graduates with Human Resources internship experience and a relevant business degree with a passion for a long-term career in Human Resources and People Operations.

HR SLPswork in 3 rotations over 2 years in different facilities across the United States. Each rotation has project assignments that allow participants to become familiar with how we do business and contribute to the success of that facility. The program offers invaluable experiences for early-career associates seeking challenging developmental opportunities to jump‑start their careers.

The Job:

Throughout the program you’ll have the opportunity to support the HR Function with key projects and initiatives including:

  • Building Relationships and becoming a trusted advisor to business groups while ensuring efficiency and effectiveness of solutions deployed in support of business goals and objectives.
  • Leading HR and analytics projects to streamline processes and increase working capital turns – All while communicating effectively of any challenges that may inhibit project deliverables
  • Leading Projects: Plan, Manage, and provide deliverables on projects as assigned throughout their rotational assignments.
  • Facilitate structured training programs to support business transformation.
  • Identify opportunities for improvement and makes constructive suggestions for change.
  • Report out/present to Program peers and company leaders about your project deliverables on a regular rhythm
The Person:

  • Bachelors or Masters Degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Organizational Psychology, Analytics or Communications
  • Demonstrated leadership experience paired with strong academic background.
  • Prior internships in HR, Analytics or Project Management.
  • Ability to work autonomously and within a team without constant direction or supervision.
  • Strong communication skills: verbal, written, and interpersonal; presentation and facilitation skills, social media savvy communicator; ability to effectively communicate across potential language barriers
  • Demonstrated quantitative, analytical, creative problem solving, and conceptual skills
  • Resourceful withability to navigate the unknown, finding solutions by navigating through internal and external channels
  • Excellent networking and collaboration skills; Proven ability to build alliances, influence others, and work in a team environment.
  • Strong organization skills and attention to detail; Ability to be proactive, prioritize work, and handle multiple assignments in a timely manner.
The Details:
  • Must be willing to rotate work assignments, projects, and teams every 6-12 months throughout the program. Relocation for a minimum of one rotation may be required.
  • This role will be hybrid in the following locations: New Britain, CT; Towson, MD; or Valley, City OH.
  • Competitive salary

The Salary range for this position is $51,700.00 - $83,300.00

  • This is the lowest to highest annual full-time salary range we would pay for this role at the time of this posting. The salary offered within the range may vary depending on multiple factors including job level, geographic location, job-related knowledge, skills, qualifications, experience and in compliance with local wage requirements. Please note that salary is only one component of total rewards at Stanley Black & Decker.

  • The successful candidate may be eligible for annual merit increases.
